Recruitment
Job boards are the most common way to recruit new hires. The recruiting laws may vary according to each province, following the federal government’s regulations. One example is the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) which does not allow advertisements to contain statements that may be seen as discriminatory.
Hiring
Canadian employment contracts typically include a three-month probationary period. Written employment contracts set the terms and conditions of each employment relationship. Canada is a bilingual country with French and English populations. However, most employment contracts are drafted in English.
You can choose to hire Canadian employees yourself or work with an employment solutions provider like HR Options. If you decide to hire on your own, it could take a significant amount of time, and you may need to travel back and forth to Canada. HR Options will act as the Employer of Record and hire on your behalf, including managing work visas, permits, and the legal liability of hiring in that country.
